GENERAL INFORMATION

Pass Requests

HOUSE WATCH

The "House Watch" program alerts Security to empty houses when the residents are away on vacation.
Typically Security makes a detailed check of the homes and contacts specified key holders if there is a problem.
The program is proactive in that officers become more aware of their patrol routes and can spot something suspicious and investigate.
Please obtain a form from the gate if you wish to participate. We encourage those of you who are leaving for a short time to take advantage of this service.

Fripp Island Security & Patrol Department Authority

There are many misconceptions regarding what Security has the "authority" to do on Fripp Island, so let's attempt to provide some clarification.

The State Legislature has empowered the Fripp Island Security Department with the same powers of arrest on these premises as a Deputy Sheriff. That also means we are held by the same constitutional requirements of probable cause and criminal procedure. This procedure which protects you against unreasonable searches, seizures and arrests sometimes may not make sense when you are the victim of a crime. But it is this same procedure that maintains our system's legitimacy.

We would like to say there is no crime on Fripp Island, but that is simply not true.

With your continued support everyone will be able to say that we have a well-prepared Security Department that responds effectively to your needs.
